Academic Path in Russia and “Window to Russia”: Where international audiences can learn about Russia in eight languages

17 December 2025

The Academic Path in Russia projects — Summer University, Summer Institute, and Winter University on Engineering Sciences — are designed for international audiences who are interested not only in studying at Russian universities, but also in understanding the country’s cultural and educational context.

One of the useful resources for international users is the multimedia project “Window to Russia”, which is part of the RT project group. It is an information platform that presents Russia in a clear and accessible way — in eight languages.

The Window to Russia portal features materials on Russian culture, traditions, and history, as well as practical information for those interested in studying, working, or living in Russia. The project helps international users navigate everyday realities, reduces cultural barriers, and answers common questions that often arise even before arriving in the country.

In 2025, the platform launched a free online Russian language course (A1 level) for beginners. The course is available in both video and text formats and is adapted to different language versions of the portal, making it convenient for users from various countries. It is suitable for those who are just starting to learn Russian and want to acquire basic communication and study skills.

Window to Russia regularly updates its content and offers:
 • materials for learning the Russian language;
 • publications on culture and traditions;
 • reference information on education and visa-related issues;
 • practical tips for adaptation to a new environment.

The platform is available on the website www.gw2ru.com, as well as on social media platforms including Telegram, VK, Dzen, and Odnoklassniki, allowing users to choose a convenient format and language to explore the content.
