Registration for the “Winter university of engineering sciences” project opened on August 11

12 August 2025

The “Winter university of engineering sciences” is a unique international initiative that brings together technology, progress and collaboration. This year, the project is being implemented as part of the national program “Youth and children.” From November 24 to December 7, 2025, three Russian cities — Saint Petersburg, Samara and Veliky Novgorod — will host more than 600 engineering students from both neighboring countries (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Belarus, Georgia, Abkhazia, South Ossetia, the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic) and from further abroad (Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Hungary, Malaysia, Indonesia, BRICS countries and others). This year, Samara National Research University named after Academician S.P. Korolev has joined the list of universities hosting the “Winter university”.

The goal of the project is to foster international cooperation among young engineers, strengthen professional connections and enhance engineering competencies. Senior engineering students interested in studying and engaging in professional collaboration with Russia are invited to participate.
In 2025, the “Winter university” will be hosted by three leading universities:
 1. Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University (SPbPU);
 2. Samara National Research University named after Academician S. P. Korolev (Samara University);
 3. Yaroslav-the-Wise Novgorod State University (NovSU).

The educational program includes three thematic tracks:
 1. Electronics, radio engineering and communication Systems (NovSU);
 2. Artificial intelligence and digital technologies (SPbPU);
 3. Integrated technologies in aerospace engineering (Samara University).

Classes are conducted in both Russian and English.
The cultural program features engaging excursions, workshops and events that introduce participants to Russian history and culture.
Special emphasis is placed on project work. Students collaborate in international teams on real engineering challenges, interact with industry and business representatives and present their projects to expert panels.

The project aims to bring together as many young engineers from around the world as possible. Since 2023, 960 students from 13 countries have already taken part.
Registration opens on August 11 at: https://winteruniversity.ru/en/.
