The Winter University of Engineering Sciences is a symbiosis of science, technology and friendship. This annual international project, supported by the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, was first held in 2023. Since then it has become an important platform for exchanging knowledge and experience among young engineers from around the world.
The project's goal is to strengthen ties between young engineers and enhance international cooperation.
The 2025 Winter University brought together students from different countries and became an important platform for international educational cooperation.
In 2025, the project was held at the venues of three universities — Samara University, Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University, and Yaroslav-the-Wise Novgorod State University. Participants took part in 3 educational programs, including tracks taught in English.
With the support of 15 industrial partners, participants were able to develop 122 joint projects. In total, more than 600 students from Russia and near and far abroad took part in the project.
The project is implemented with the support of the Russian Ministry of Science and Higher Education as part of the national project "Youth and Children."
Samara University named after Korolev
Participants who came to Samara University were from Armenia, Belarus, India, China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Serbia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, South Africa, as well as from regions of Russia. Classes for them were conducted in Russian and English.
The educational program "Integrated Technologies in Aerospace Engineering Design" was implemented in Russian and English and included two tracks: Design and Engineering of Modern Aviation Systems, and Aerospace Systems Engineering, which included lectures, practical and laboratory classes, as well as work with industrial case studies.
The project's partners were PJSC "ODK-Kuznetsov," JSC Group "Volgaenergoprom," and LLC "Transport of the Future."
Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University
The educational program is implemented on the basis of the SPbPU School of Advanced Engineering Studies "Digital Engineering" and combines intensive technical modules, project work involving industrial partners, as well as cultural and educational events that promote intercultural exchange and personal growth of participants. The "Winter University" format is aimed at developing practical skills, as well as fostering the leadership and communication competencies of future engineers.
In 2025, the educational program "Artificial Intelligence and Digital Technologies" included three engineering tracks:
"Technologist" — for those interested in production and process optimization.
"Engineer" — for those who want to gain deeper insight into modern approaches to design.
"Innovator" — for English-speaking students interested in the technological and entrepreneurial agenda.

Yaroslav-the-Wise Novgorod State University
In 2025, the project was attended by engineering students from Russia, Belarus, Armenia, Uzbekistan, India, South Africa and other countries.
The educational program "Electronics, Radio Engineering and Communication Systems" included lectures, practical classes and project blocks implemented across six thematic tracks: "Virtual and Augmented Reality," "Cybersecurity," "Digital Signal Processing," "Unmanned Aerial Systems and Satellite Technologies," "Development of Systems Using Neural Network Technologies," and "Information Modeling Technologies."
The project's partners were JSC "Elsy," PJSC "Akron," JSC "Central Research Institute Tsiklon," LLC "SPC 'Akron Engineering'," JSC "OKB-Planeta," and JSC "NPK SPP."
