Conditions of Participation

About the Project

The goal of the project is to strengthen ties between young engineers from different countries and to enhance professional competencies.

The project is open to everyone who wants to get acquainted with Russian engineering education, the traditions and culture of our country, make new friends and become a student of one of the leading universities.

General Conditions

The project is open to final-year bachelor's students (3rd–4th year) and final-year specialist's students (4th–5th year) enrolled at foreign universities (outside the country hosting the project) in engineering fields.

Submitting an application does not guarantee participation in the project. Participants are selected on the basis of a competitive review.

In-person participation in the «Winter University» project is mandatory.

Important: this is not a tourist trip. Participants must be ready for an intensive academic programme.

Dates

Application period: 17 August 2026 – 4 October 2026.

Selection of participants completed: 16 October 2026 (following the selection, all applicants will be informed whether their application was approved or declined).

Project dates: 23 November 2026 – 6 December 2026 (in-person participation is mandatory).

What is Required to Apply?

  • Registration on the project website.
  • A correctly completed application to participate in the project (including all the required supporting documents).
  • A motivational video from the applicant
    Focus on:
    — Clear motivation (why you and why this project?).
    — Readiness to learn and to engage actively.
    — Experience of intercultural communication (if any).
    — How the project relates to your academic/career goals.
    Tip: avoid generic phrases, give specific examples.

Financial Conditions

Participation in the project is free of charge.

If the application is approved, the host party covers:

  • Travel (round trip).
  • Accommodation and meals.
  • Excursions within the project.
